The City

Renowned for the timeless beauty of its parks and gardens, Christchurch is now a city focused on the future. It is rebuilding post-earthquakes for a new generation, while carefully restoring its heritage. The city has achieved international acclaim for its creative and clever urban design, evidenced by inspiring street art, an award-winning 'cardboard' Cathedral, and brand new business, shopping, arts and entertainment spaces.

About linux.conf.au

linux.conf.au is the largest Linux and Open Source conference in the Asia-Pacific region. Run annually since 1999, it brings together the Australian, New Zealand and international community for stand out presentations, demonstrations and relationship building.

The conference enables people to gather and learn about the entire world of Free and Open Source Software, directly from the people who shape the projects and topics that they're presenting on.

The aim is to provide a deeply technical conference made up of industry leaders and experts on a wide range of subjects from the inner workings of the Linux kernel itself, to open source projects (hardware and software), open data, open government and to community engagement.
